Sleep disorder is a global health concern. Given the physiological similarities between anesthesia-induced states of consciousness and natural sleep, the application of anesthetic drugs and techniques in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders has become increasingly prominent. This article systematically reviews the classification of sleep disorders, elaborates on the progress of anesthetic drugs and techniques in various types of sleep disorders, aiming to provide clinicians with scientific diagnostic and therapeutic evidence.
