  • Research Progress of Adjustment Mechanism between MicroRNA and Vascular Endothelial Cell Function

Vascular endothelial cell(VEC) is a kind of simple squamous epithelium lined on the inner surface of blood vessels. VEC is an important barrier between the blood and tissue and it also plays a key role in regulating inflammation, thrombosis, endothelial cells mediated vasodilatation and endothelial regeneration. These processes should be controlled by a variety of complex mechanism which requires us to find out. With results of the researches in vascular endothelial cell function, the important roles that microRNA in vascular endothelial cell function draws more and more researchers' attention. MicroRNAs control gene expression in post-transcriptional level and affect the function of endothelial cells. This review focuses on the research progress on regulatory mechanism of microRNA to endothelial cell inflammation, thrombosis, vasodilation and endothelium regeneration.

  • CURRENT CONCEPTS IN ARTHROSCOPIC RECONSTRUCTION OF ANTERIOR CRUCIATE LIGAMENT WITH REMNANT PRESERVATION TECHNIQUE

Objective To review the methods and progress of arthroscopic reconstruction of anterior cruciate l igament (ACL) with the remnant preservation technique. Methods Recent l iterature about arthroscopic reconstruction of ACL with the remnant preservation technique was reviewed and analyzed. Results The preserved ACL after injuries could be single-bundle or remnant. The preserved remnant provided synovium for the reconstructed ACL, and it could accelerate revascularization of the graft, and it was benefit for the proprioception too, and certain kinds of remnant could contribute to the stabil ity of the joint. The preserved remnant could prevent the washing-effect of the joint fluid, then prevent the enlargement of the tibial tunnel. Cyclops or impingement may occurred in remnant preservation technique. Conclusion Remnant preservation in ACL reconstruction can provide good cl inical result. But remnant preservation is a skill demanded technique. There should be more research and cl inical trials about remnant preservation in ACL reconstruction about its necessity and advantage, also disadvantage.

  • Observation of the Clinical Effect of Suxiao Jiuxin Pills on Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome

ObjectiveTo observe the clinical effect of clopidogrel combined with Suxiao Jiuxin Pills on patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). MethodsNinety-seven patients with ACS diagnosed between January 2010 and December 2011 were divided into the treatment group (treated with clopidogrel combined with Suxiao Jiuxin Pills) (n=48) and the control group (treated with single clopidogrel) (n=49). One month was regarded as a treatment course. After one month, we observed the clinical effect, heart attacks frequency, ST segment changes and adverse reactions for the patients. ResultsThe total effective rate was 79.2% in the treatment group and was 51.0% in the control group. There was significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). Heart attacks frequency and ST segment were reduced significantly in both the two groups after treatment (P<0.05). The curative effect in the treatment group was significantly better than that in the control group after treatment (P<0.05). ConclusionClopidogrel combined with Suxiao Jiuxin Pills have a better clinical effect in the treatment of ACS than single clopidogrel.

  • Identification of Candidate Diagnostic Tumor Markers for Human Hepatocellular Carcinoma Using Genechip Technology

Objective To identify genes associated with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) as candidate diagnostic markers in a genome-wide scale. Methods The gene expression profiles of 40 pairs of HCC tumor tissue and peripheral non-tumorous liver tissue were analyzed by using gene chip technology. The gene chips were fabricated at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Each gene chip contained 9 180 genes. The fluorescent targets were prepared by a direct labeling approach using two kinds of fluorescences as following: 100 μg of total RNA from non-cancerous liver tissue was labeled with Cy3-dUTP and 200 μg of total RNA from HCC was labeled with Cy5-dUTP. The targets were mixed together and hybridized with genes on the gene chips. Unsupervised hierarchical clustering analysis was done by CLUSTER and TREEVIEW software using median centered correlation and complete linkage. Results A total of 10 genes were found up-regulated in over 80% of primary tumors comparing with that of their corresponding non-tumorous liver tissues at a two-fold filter with an unsupervised hierarchical clustering algorithm, including protocadherin-alpha 9, ESTs, Homo sapiens cDNA FLJ, KPNA2, RPS20, SNRPE, CDKN2A, UBD, MDK and ANXA2.Conclusion These genes are supposed to be candidates for the diagnosis of HCC. Further investigation of these genes in a large scale of patients with HCC and patients with non-malignant hepatic diseases will be needed to disclose whether they could be used clinically as novel diagnostic tumor markers for HCC.

  • Traditional Chinese Medicine Fumigation versus Western Medicine in the Treatment of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy: A Meta-analysis

ObjectiveTo evaluate the traditional Chinese medicine fumigation curative effect for the treatment of various diabetic peripheral neuropathy. MethodsDatabases such as China Biology Medicine Database, VIP, China Knowledge Resource Integrated Database, WanFang Data, PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library were searched by computer for controlled clinical trials consistent with the inclusive criteria from the establishment of these databases until February 2016. The literature quality evaluation method of Cochrane system evaluation manual was used to evaluate the methodological quality of the studies, and then relevant data were extracted for Meta-analysis with RevMan 5.1 software. ResultsA total of 15 randomized controlled trials involving 1579 patients were included. Meta-analysis showed that 15 days after intervention, the total effective rate of the traditional Chinese medicine fumigation group was higher than that of the western medicine group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant [RR=1.39, 95%CI (1.25, 1.55), P<0.00001]; one month after intervention, the total effective rate of the traditional Chinese medicine fumigation group was significantly higher than that of the western medicine group [RR=1.26, 95%CI (1.15, 1.38), P<0.00001]; two months after intervention, the total effective rate of the traditional Chinese medicine fumigation group was significantly higher than that of the western medicine group [RR=1.22, 95%CI (1.10, 1.36), P=0.0002]. After 1 month of treatment, motor nerve conduction velocity motion [WMD=4.42 m/s, 95%CI (3.40, 5.43) m/s, P<0.00001] and median nerve sensory nerve conduction velocity [WMD=4.02 m/s, 95%CI (2.96, 5.08) m/s, P<0.00001] increased significantly more in the traditional Chinese medicine fumigation group. ConclusionThe Chinese medicine fumigation treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy is better than oral or intramuscular vitamin B12, vitamin B1, oral oryzanol and so on.
