Establishing and improving the quality control system of drug clinical trial institutions is the key to ensure the quality of clinical trial. In recent years, the number of drug clinical trial has been continuously improved, and the quality control requirements have been continuously improved. However, in clinical work, the workload of medical staff is heavy, and the energy devoted to clinical trial is limited. Clinical research coordinator (CRC), as a participant and coordinator of clinical trial, has carried out transactional work related to non-medical judgment under the authorization and guidance of researchers, and has undertaken any specific work in clinical trial. Based on the quality control management experience of nosocomial CRC and hospital drug clinical trial institutions in West China Hospital of Sichuan University, this paper discusses the mode of nosocomial CRC participating in clinical trial quality control. By participating in the quality control of clinical trial, the nosocomial CRC has improved the quality control efficiency, enriched the quality control team and improved the overall level of CRC. This model enriches the quality control system of drug clinical trial.
Epigenetics refers to the modification effect of external and internal environmental factors on genes under the premise of the unaltered genetic sequence, leading to changes in gene expression level or function, and thereby affecting various phenotypes or disease outcomes. In recent years, epigenetics has attracted increasing attention. Among them, DNA methylation has been shown to be closely related to human development and the development of disease. However, the high-dimensional omics data generated by genome-wide methylation detection can comprehensively reflect the overall and local epigenetic modifications at the genome level, which has become one of the main research contents in this field. Based on genome-wide methylation chip data, this paper summarized the quality control process of this omics data, common epigenetic omics correlation statistical analysis methods and ideas, and visualization realization of main results based on SAS JMP Genomics 10 software, so as to provide reference for similar studies.
As a standard of care, lymph node dissection is an indispensible step in lung cancer surgery. The quality of dissection determines completeness of surgery and the accuracy of N staging. Hereby, we suggest labeling all surgically resected nodes according to the new lymph node map in the 8th TNM classification for lung cancer. As systematic lymph node dissection remains the gold standard of lymphadenectomy, at least three mediastinal stations and ten nodes should be removed in an en-bloc fashion, if possible. For patients with stage Ⅰ lung cancer, lymph node dissection via video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) or open thoracotomy may has similar oncological outcome. Besides, limited lymph node sampling in selected patients with early staged lung cancer to minimize unnecessary surgical damage still need further investigation.
With the dissemination and popularization of EBM around the world, the evidence-based laboratory medicine has boomed gradually. However, the substantial researches in tbe field are still inadequale now. Based on the facts of hospital laboratory medicine, this article discussed the feasibility that apply the rationale and methods to orient the laboratory quality control.
ObjectiveTo summary the standardized management in research and applications of platelet derivatives for tissue regeneration.MethodsThe related literature about bottlenecks and standardized management of platelet derivatives in recent years was reviewed and analyzed.ResultsAlthough the platelet derivatives are increasingly used to accelerate the regenerative processes of injured joint, skin, nerve, ligament/tendon, and alveolar bone, etc., the large variation in preparation methods, diverse nomenclature, incomplete reporting system, and lack of quantitative and standardized management of the preparation process have caused uncertainty and incomparability of research and application results. In recent years, there has been a trend towards standardized research and management of platelet derivatives.ConclusionThe implementation of standardized research and quality management will contribute to promote the research and application of platelet derivatives in the field of tissue regeneration.
Healthcare-associated infections pose a significant challenge to healthcare institutions, severely threatening healthcare quality and patient safety. To enhance the quality of infection prevention and control across healthcare facilities at all levels, promote standardization, and drive continuous quality improvement, quality control centers for infection prevention and control have been established nationwide and have played a crucial role. This article conducts an in-depth analysis of the functions, current development status, and key challenges faced by these quality control centers throughout their evolution, aiming to provide insights for future advancements in quality control systems.
Objective To understand the current situation of nosocomial infection management quality control centers at the municipal and county levels in Guizhou, so as to provide measures for promoting the construction of nosocomial infections management quality control centers at all levels in Guizhou. Methods From September 26th to October 12th 2023, based on the mobile network platform survey questionnaire of the infection prevention and control workshop, a survey was conducted on the establishment, personnel, information technology level, management, and quality control work of the nosocomial infection management quality control centers at the municipal and county levels in Guizhou. Results Nine prefecture-level cities/autonomous prefectures in Guizhou had established municipal-level nosocomial infection management quality control centers. The professional background of the staff at the municipal and county-level quality control centers was mainly nursing (accounting for 36.4% and 58.4%, respectively), and their educational background was mainly undergraduate (accounting for 70.5% and 83.3%, respectively). No quality control center at the municipal or county level had established an information-based quality control platform for nosocomial infection management within the region. Most county-level quality control centers did not have special funds (87.5%), and there were still 16 (25.0%) county-level quality control centers that had not established relevant systems for work and management. The main forms of quality control work carried out by each center were organizing training, on-site inspections, guidance and evaluation, and most of them were conducted irregularly. Conclusions Guizhou has basically formed a quality control system for nosocomial infection management at the provincial, municipal, and county levels. However, the nosocomial infection management quality control network has not fully covered all districts, and policies, funding support, and personnel allocation are still insufficient. Health administrative departments and quality control centers at all levels need to unify monitoring standards and quality control norms, strengthen supervision, improve quality control capabilities, and improve training systems to achieve standardization and normalization of quality control work throughout the province and improve quality control efficiency.
Mitochondrial quality control includes mechanisms such as mitochondria-derived vesicles, fusion / fission and autophagy. These processes rely on the collaboration of a variety of key proteins in the inner and outer membranes of mitochondria to jointly regulate the morphological structure and functional integrity of mitochondria, repair mitochondrial damage, and maintain the homeostasis of their internal environment. The imbalance of mitochondrial quality control is associated with leukemia. Therefore, by exploring the mechanisms related to mitochondrial quality control of various leukemia cells and their interactions with immune cells and immune microenvironment, this article sought possible targets in the treatment of leukemia, providing new ideas for the immunotherapy of leukemia.
High-quality development has become the command stick for the current reform of medical institutions. This article combines the practical experience of West China Hospital of Sichuan University to sort out the difficulties in the construction of provincial medical quality control centers in China. It summarizes the problems in policy support, intervention methods, work content, network construction, discipline construction, and quality control efficiency of provincial medical quality control centers, and proposes that building a collaborative platform based on key management projects, establishing a multi-level operation mode, and constructing a benchmark construction model are the key paths to reform the management of provincial medical quality control centers.
In recent years, the Chengdu Municipal Thoracic Surgery Quality Control Center has preliminarily established a regional quality control system for thoracic surgery through the development of standards, data reporting, and on-site supervision, achieving phased improvements. This review summarizes the current development of Chengdu’s thoracic surgery quality control system, including its organizational structure and scoring methodology, quality indicators based on structure–process–outcome, information technology infrastructure, and multicenter collaboration experiences, and outlines trends in surgical volume, minimally invasive procedure rates, human resources, and care quality metrics. It also analyzes existing challenges such as inter-hospital quality disparities and insufficient interoperability among information platforms. Drawing on domestic and international best practices, we propose development strategies to further enhance the homogenization and continuous improvement of thoracic surgery quality in the region. The Chengdu experience could offer a valuable model for building regional thoracic surgery quality control systems nationwide and for integration with the national quality control platform.
