  • Research advances in three-dimensional bioprinted wound dressings

ObjectiveTo review the research progress of three-dimensional (3D) bioprinting technology for wound dressing design and preparation. Methods The literature on 3D bioprinted wound dressings in recent years, both domestically and internationally, was retrieved. The core principles of 3D bioprinting technology, mainstream methods, and their applications in wound dressings design and preparation were summarized. Results By leveraging precise spatial manipulation capabilities and multi-material integration, 3D bioprinting technology constructs the functionalized wound dressings with complex structures and bioactivity. These dressings primarily function across several dimensions: wound hemostasis, infection control, controlled drug release, and monitoring wound healing. Conclusion Although 3D bioprinted wound dressings can promote wound healing through multiple dimensions, large-scale clinical validation is still lacking. Future efforts should further clarify their clinical value and scope of application to provide more efficient, precise, and patient-comfortable treatment options for refractory wounds.

  • Definition, characteristics and methodological interpretation of Cochrane rapid reviews

Since the COVID-19 outbreak, the number of studies using rapid reviews (RR) for rapid evidence-based decision-making has been increasing. RR can significantly improve the timeliness of evidence and play an important role in decision making. To clarify the definition of RR and standardize its application, the Cochrane RR Methodology Group defined RR in 2021 and published the evidence-based guidelines for RR methodology. To promote researchers' understanding of RR, standardize the application of RR methodology, and improve the overall quality of this type of research, this paper introduced the development history of RR and interpreted the definition, characteristics and methodological content of RR.

  • Interpretation of 2022 edition of Wound Infection in Clinical Practice: Principles of Best Practice

Wound infection can prolong wound healing time, increase hospitalization cycle and readmission rate, seriously affect patients’ quality of life and increase economic expenditure. Timely and accurate identification and management of wound infections is key to promoting wound healing and maximizing cost-effective management. In 2022, the International Wound Infection Association published the third edition of Wound Infection in Clinical Practice: Principles of Best Practice. The consensus incorporates new advances in research and clinical practice in the areas of wound environment, risk factors for infection, biofilms, antibiotic resistance, and the identification and management of wound infections, and provides detailed approaches to infection assessment and management. This article introduces the key elements of the 2022 expert consensus and interprets the updated content to help healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers, and policy makers understand the latest consensus document, promote its clinical application in the prevention and treatment of wound infection, and better improve the quality of clinical practice.
