  • Effect of continuous nursing on home care of lung transplant patients based on humanistic care

    ObjectiveTo explore the effect of continuous nursing on lung transplant patients at home based on humanistic care. MethodsAccording to hospitalization order, patients who received lung transplantation in our hospital from January 2016 to October 2020 were divided into a control group and a nursing group. The control group was treated with routine lung transplantation education and regular follow-up after discharge, and the nursing group received humanistic care during follow-up, health education at discharge, cultural exchange activities, and home care plans. After discharge, the self-management ability at home, medication adherence and satisfaction of home care between the two groups were campared. ResultsA total of 60 patients were included in the study. There were 23 patients in the control group, including 16 males and 7 females, with an average age of 58.70±11.00 years. There were 37 pateints in the nursing group, including 25 males and 12 females, with an average age of 57.90±13.20 years. The scores of self-management ability at home of the nursing group (self-concept 27.41±2.37 points vs. 21.78±3.54 points; self-care responsibility 20.73±1.63 points vs. 16.83±2.79 points; self-care skills 41.46±3.77 points vs. 28.26±4.11 points; health knowledge level 57.95±4.10 points vs. 44.87±5.79 points) were higher than those in the control group (all P<0.05). The medication adherence (7.47±0.46 points vs. 6.87±0.28 points) and satisfaction of home care (23.80±1.20 points vs. 20.50±1.90 points) in the nursing group were higher than those in the control group (both P<0.05). ConclusionContinuous nursing based on humanistic care for lung transplant patients can effectively improve the self-management ability, medication adherence and nursing satisfaction of patients after discharge.

  • Construction and evaluation of advanced nursing practice course for postgraduate students in nursing

    ObjectiveTo explore course content and teaching-learning strategies of advanced nursing practice in graduate nursing education, so as to provide reference for nursing schools to develop relevant courses.MethodsA teamof course teachers was set up, and the course was developed. The course was implemented in grade 2015 and 2016 graduate nursing students. The students’ perception and evaluation of course contents, teaching methods, teaching quality, curriculum value and course satisfaction were collected through questionnaires and interviews.ResultsA totalof 23 students were enrolled. The mean scores of teaching quality, curriculum value and course satisfaction were 93.48±1.01, 51.04±4.88, and 17.00±2.28, respectively. Students recognized the necessity and the importance of including the advanced nursing practice in each specialty in the course content, and hoped to add in practice sections.ConclusionsIt is advisable to include the advanced nursing practice in each specialty as well as the practice section, so as to strengthen the students’ concrete understanding of the advanced nursing practice. Seminar and discussion are the teaching methods with first priority.

    In the context of the burgeoning development of day surgery, the shortened hospital stay has led to a relative reduction in the professional care that patients receive. As a result, more stringent requirements for nursing quality management have emerged. Scientific and objective sensitive indicators can provide quantitative standards for monitoring and evaluating nursing quality. This article comprehensively reviews the definition, classification, construction steps, and methods of nursing quality sensitive indicators. Additionally, it delves into the current status of the construction and application of such indicators for day surgery both at home and abroad. Those insights can offer a scientific foundation for the management of nursing quality in day surgery settings.

  • Research progress on financial toxicity in patients with heart failure

    Heart failure is a progressive disease with high readmission rate and long treatment duration, which impose a heavy financial burden on patients and their families. The resulting financial toxicity can also affect the health outcomes of patients. This article provides an in-depth analysis of the concept, evaluation tools, research status, hazards, influencing factors, and coping strategies of financial toxicity in patients with heart failure. Suggestions are put forward for the development of evaluation tools and the improvement of coping strategies for financial toxicity, aiming to provide a reference for the development of more scientific and effective systematic intervention strategies.

  • Visualization analysis of hotspots and trends of lung transplantation nursing research based on CiteSpace

    Objective To explore the research hotspots and latest progress of lung transplantation nursing at home and abroad, and to provide reference ideas and directions for the future related research. Methods Through the collection of CNKI and Web of Science core database, the related literature of lung transplantation nursing from inception to December 2023 was retrieved and CiteSpace software was used to focus on keyword co-occurrence, clustering and emergence. Results A total of 352 Chinese literature and 126 English literature were included in this study, and the number of papers published at home and abroad showed an overall upward trend. There were 34 core authors of Chinese literature and 83 core authors of English literature. The core authors led the team to promote research and promote cooperation at home and abroad. At present, the cooperation among research teams needed to be strengthened. Chinese literature keywords included nursing, lung transplantation, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, lung rehabilitation, lung transplantation surgery, complications. English literature keywords included lung transplanation, quality of life, international society, disease, bone marrow transplantation. There were 15 clusters and 25 emergent keywords in the CNKI database, and 12 clusters and 25 emergent keywords in the Web of Science core database. ConclusionThe study of lung transplantation nursing at home and abroad has been paid more and more attention, and the research is getting more and more sophisticated. The future study can realize the holistic care of patients during perioperative period on the basis of clinical diagnosis and nursing technology, and improve the survival of patients after operation.

  • Investigation of the Adaptation Condition of Nursing Undergraduates at the Early Stage of Enrollment

    ObjectiveTo understand the adaptation condition of undergraduate nursing students at the early stage of enrollment so as to provide reference frame for the development of college students' adaptability and mental health education. MethodTotally 75 full-time baccalaureate nursing students were recruited from a comprehensive university by convenience sampling method In November 2014. Adaptation condition was investigated with China College Student Adjustment Scale (CCSAS). Statistical analysis methods were applied to analysis differences of the adaptability of college and its various dimensions scores in general data statistics. ResultsThe average score of adaptation ability was (206.88±31.02) points. There were significant differences in the level of getting along with their parents and confidence in nursing speciality (P<0.05) , while no significant differences were found among students in gender, nationality, only China one students, students' regions and reasons of choosing nursing speciality (P>0.05) . ConclusionsThe current adaptation situation of nursing undergraduates freshmen should be improved. It is necessary to carry out a series of targeted activities for the entrance education of college students to promote the adaptability of university life.

  • Effect of "HIS" Nursing Service Mode on the Improvement of Nursing Quality for Key Clinical Specialties in Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery

    ObjectiveTo explore the effect of "HIS" nursing service mode in promoting the quality of clinical nursing service for key specialties in the department of gastrointestinal surgery. MethodsIn the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery, West China Hospital of Sichuan University, "HIS" nursing service mode was carried out on January 1, 2012.Questionnaires surveying hospitalized patients' satisfaction before (n=360, between January and December 2011) and after (n=360, between January and December 2012) the implementation of "HIS" nursing service mode were retrospectively compared and analyzed. ResultsThe patients' general satisfaction score was improved significantly from 83.27±5.71 to 97.92±6.23 after the implementation of "HIS" nursing service mode (t=-8.001, P < 0.05).For all the 14 items in the satisfaction questionnaire, the differences before and after the implementation had statistical significance (P < 0.05). ConclusionThe "HIS" nursing service mode can effectively improve patients' satisfaction of clinical nursing service for key specialties in the department of gastrointestinal surgery, and it is worthy of further promotion.

  • Effect of Evidence-Based Nursing Education on the Critical Thinking Ability of Nursing Students

    Objective To explore the effect of evidence-based nursing education on the critical thinking ability of nursing students. Methods One hundred and two junior college nursing students participated in this study. They were divided into the experimental group and the control group. All of them received standard clinical nursing practice training, and students in the experimental group also attended evidence-based nursing training. All the students completed the Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory before and after training. Results Students in the experimental group had improved critical thinking ability compared with the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (Plt;0.05). Conclusions  Evidence-based nursing education can improve the critical thinking ability of nursing students.

  • Effect of Evidence-based Nursing Course in Undergraduate Nursing Students' Critical Thinking Ability: A Prospective Cohort Study

    ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of evidence-based nursing course in undergraduate nursing students' critical thinking ability. MethodsA prospective cohort study design was performed in students from two nursing undergraduate classes, who elected evidence-based nursing course as an observation group and students lacked of the course as a control group. The Chinese Version of Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory (CTDI-CV) was used to test critical thinking ability at the beginning and the end of the semester. The scores of CTDI-CV and rank of scores were compared between the two groups using t test and rank sum test. ResultsA total of 88 students were included, of which 41 students were in the observation group and 47 students were in the control group. Compared to the control group, the observation group demonstrated significantly more improvement in the total scores (MD=22.29, 95%CI 13.477 to 31.114), the search for truth (MD=2.81, 95%CI 0.211 to 5.410), open-minded (MD=3.37, 95%CI 1.280 to 5.471), analysis capabilities (MD=3.41, 95%CI 1.351 to 5.481), systematicity (MD=3.39, 95%CI 1.447 to 5.336), confidence critical thinking (MD=2.83, 95%CI 0.512 to 5.152), curiosity (MD=4.53, 95%CI 2.273 to 6.786) and cognitive maturity (MD=1.93, 95%CI -0.502 to 4.377). The level of total scores, the search for truth, analysis capabilities, systematicty, confidence critical thinking, and curiosity in the observation group were significantly improved. ConclusionEvidence-based nursing course learning can improve the undergraduate nursing students' critical thinking skill.

  • Actuality and Quality Analysis of Published EBN Related Articles in China

    Objective To explore the characteristics of articles related to Evidence-based Nursing (EBN) and to identify the problems and difficulties encountered by clinical nurses when they were engaged in evidence-based practice in China.Methods We searched for articles published in 6 nursing journals in China from 2000 to early 2006, and classified, investigated and analyzed the retrieved articles. Results Research on EBN has been changing from explaining theories and methods to applying research results in nursing practice. Among articles on clinical application, 90.9% did not describe the methods and search strategy used; 63.6% did not specify the sources of the evidence applied in practice; 93.9% did not describe the methodological quality of the evidence; only 6.1% used the results of systematic reviews or randomized trials to guide clinical practice; and 72.7% did not use effective evaluation methods to identify the nursing outcomes after applying evidences in clinical practice. Conclusions The quality of EBN related articles needs to improve further. Nurses should learn more about the knowledge and skills associated with EBN so as to improve the quality of nursing practice and of academic articles on EBN
